LINEUP:
The Tall Pines are a shack-shakin’, foot stompin’ duo – Connie Lynn Petruk & Christmas Davis – who weld together their love of garage-rock, southern-soul, classic-country, dirty-blues and drive-in-movie aesthetics, to create a unique world that reflects their own original style. The Tall Pines have performed live on bills with Steve Earle, Nikki Lane, Alejandro Escovedo, Norah Jones’ “Puss N Boots” band, Tav Falco’s Panther Burns, Justin Townes Earle, Charlie Louvin, and many other legends. The Tall Pines put on a whirl-wind of a live show, with Connie Lynn singing and playing drums on an old alligator skin suitcase, and Christmas conjuring greasy, fuzz drenched riffs from his guitar while howling along. With a variety of singles available for streaming, and their vinyl only LP “Skeletons of Soul,” The Tall Pines create road-trip music for everyday life, juke-joint pit stops, and out of body experiences. We hope that you'll join us for the ride.
"The Tall Pines are equal parts soul and twang, molasses and moonshine, sass and skill. The songs evoke the heyday of the country-soul hybrid without ever sounding unoriginal, a difficult feat.” - Meredith Ochs, NPR

Moon Radio is a brand new project from the collaborative mind of Julia Haltigan & Yusuke Yamamoto. Featuring Julia’s floating vocals and Yusuke’s dreamy electric vibraphone and moody vintage synths, their sound is something between Stereolab, Cal Tjader + Air with a twist of exotica. Adding nostalgia to futurism, their music transcends dystopian times and leaves the audience feeling euphoric. Julia’s extensive career includes 6 solo records, a role in upcoming film by Alonso Ruizpalacios starring Rooney Mara, and an ongoing role in the off Broadway immersive hit Sleep No More. Yusuke, originally from Hyogo Japan has released several records under the name Channel U and Golden Monkey’s. He’s performed as a part of the Broadway hit FELA!, Blue Man Group, and Sleep No More.
At 19, Cat Popper moved from Charlotte, NC to New York City to play music. You might have also seen her on stage with Jack White, Brian Fallon, Norah Jones, Willie Nelson, Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, Peter Rowan and Tony Rice, Grace Potter, Jesse Malin, Tommy Stinson or Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble Band, to name a handful.
“One time I asked Bruce Springsteen where he was from,” says Popper. “I ruined a Joe Walsh guest spot because his foot got stuck in a mixing bowl I left onstage. Oh, and I’m almost positive I played bass on a Fallout Boy track.”
Mike Fornatale has played and/or sung with The Left Banke, Moby Grape, Mark Lindsay, The Monks, Ellen Foley, The Washington Squares, The Shaggs, The Losers' Lounge, and of course The Tall Pines. He does not write songs. But, he knows a lot of good ones, and that's why he is DJ-ing for you at The Tall Pines Revue!
