How are you composing your time during this time of isolation? Join two visionary performers, Helga Davis and Daniel Alexander Jones, as they guide us through a journey of listening, healing, and emerging on the other side as a global community.
Helga Davis
Helga Davis was principal actor in the 25th-anniversary international revival of Robert Wilson and Philip Glass's seminal opera Einstein on the Beach. Robert Wilson describes her as “a united whole, with spellbinding inner power and strength.” She is the recipient of the 2019 Greenfield Prize in composition and the Judy Collins Vanguard residency at Joe’s Pub. She is also the 2018-21 visiting curator for the performing arts at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and host of the eponymous podcast HELGA on WNYC/WQXR.
David Alexander Jones
Daniel Alexander Jones exemplifies the artist as energy worker. While his wildflower body of original work includes plays, performance pieces, recorded music, concerts, music theatre events, essays, and long-form improvisations, energy is his true medium. The Herb Alpert Foundation notes that he “creates multi-dimensional experiences where bodies, minds, emotions, voices, and spirits conjoin, shimmer, and heal.” Jones was a 2019 Guggenheim Fellow, and was a Doris Duke Artist Award recipient.
